It is clear that the protests which started on July 11th demonstrate that the Cuban people want change. We wrote this blog post to shed light on what sparked the protests from our understanding and from listening to those who know best — engaged Cubans on the island.

Santa Clara doesn’t go out of its way to impress its visitors yet there is fierce and vibrant social fabric here that is worth noting. As the Cuban saying goes, “Hay tela por donde cortar.”
